Giving a Photographer Tip Here, a Newborn Photography Secret.. I know, I know… you’ve been eagerly awaiting.
I Love being a newborn photographer and a part of a fantastic Team, but it can be hectic at times. We just finished up a busy busy season of baby photography, Maternity Photos, Newborn Photography, and Birth Photo Sessions. We are finally, finally catching up! Shew. And just in time for another round of babies in a week or so… Here we go again. Not that we are complaining, because we love our cuddles!
So many of you have been asking for us to share some of our secrets to our gorgeous photography work. So we wanted to share with you little bit of the process behind how we choose our images. When we do a photo shoot us photographers end up with so many images right? No one wants all of those images, where would you put them all?
So we start with a ton of images.. Here’s how we narrow it down to the very best:
1.) Narrow down only the good images.. Eyes closed, motion blur, exposure problem? Get rid of it. Some photos you can’t fix, worry about the photos you can fix.
2.) Duplicates… How may pictures of little Johnny in that old red chair does mom need? Not That Many! We Narrow down to the top 5 in the chair, using composition and facial expressions to guide us.
3.) Focus…. Once we have went through all of the images using steps 1 & 2 we want to focus… pun intended. Zoom in to 100% and look, really look… which ones are in focus? Which ones have the sharpest focus. Those are your keepers.
We hope you have enjoyed our Photography Teaching on how to choose the best images. We hope to share another newborn photography secret with you in the future. Love, Team PGP
